Where to Road Ride:
Ski Haus West on Highway 40 to Milner and beyond.
Riding west on Highway 40 can be used as an out-and-back style ride. The bonus is you get to choose how far out-and-back you want to go. Riding to Milner can be an easy lunchtime ride. Riding to Craig and back is not an off the couch casual ride... Lots of motivation will be required for that kind of ride. And of course, don't forget the "Where in Hell is Maybell" ride every spring. (Ride to Maybell and get treated to an awesome pancake breakfast!

Highway 40 west offers a terrific shoulder all the way to Maybell and Dinosaur National Monument. Watch out for the rumble "wake-up!" strips layed into the shoulder most of the way across. Also plan your rides around the weather. The earlier you leave the less likely you will encounter the harsh afternoon winds that are typical in the spring and summer.
