Nine Drepung Loseling Buddhist monks came to Steamboat Springs last week to create a sand mandala. The work of art symbolizes the spirit of compassion, the basis of Buddhism. The intricate design created by patiently and precisely placing colored sand by hand is amazing. The sand has depth and height, the colors rich and vibrant... like our home and like our universe. The mandala was completed in 5 days, sat finished for a single hour, and then swept together and poured into the Yampa River to symbolize the
ever-changing reality of nature. Photo: M.S. Don't be afraid of the space between your dreams and reality. If you can dream it, you can make it so. Belva Davis Ski Haus 1457 Pine Grove Road Steamboat Springs, Colorado 1.800.932.3019 |
