Ski Haus

Where to Mountain Bike:
Coulton Creek.
The Coulton Creek Trail is up in North Routt County. To get to the trailhead leave from Ski Haus and drive west on Highway 40 (Lincoln Avenue) to the intersection of 40 and Country Road 129. Just after you pass the little berg of Clark, turn right on Seedhouse road. Watch for Forest Service Trail #1188 and park there.

Coulton Creek is a pretty short ride but if you connect it with the Pearl Lake Trail, Scott's Run, and even Diamond Park you can ride all day and then some...

Coulton Creek features a few steep climbs, a few steep descents, meadows, forests, and terrific rolling terrain, too.

For more details check Tom Barnhart's Steamboat Single Tracks guide book, Trails Illustrated Map #117, or the new Sky Terrain Mount Zirkel - Steamboat Springs Map.

This is great biking, especially when you add the above combinations of trails. Your a bit further away from shelter, people, and services here so be prepared with plenty of water, food, adequate clothing, and repair kits (for your bike and yourself!).
