	Where to Mountain Bike: Rabbit Ears Pass (Dumont Lake) to Buffalo Pass 21+miles.
Rabbit Ears Pass to Buffalo Pass This is a classic ride. The easiest way to get to the trailhead above Dumont Lake is to drive up Rabbit Ears Pass and collect your vehicle after your ride with a shuttle. Some dedicated souls will ride their bikes up the pass and across. This ride gives you lots of options. You can ride to Fishhook Lake, Lost Lake, or Lake Elmo and return to your starting point. Or connect with the Mountain View Trail just past Long Lake and ride down the trails on the Steamboat Ski Area. Or continue to Buffalo Pass and ride the road back down to town. The last option is to ride down Fish Creek Falls trial but this trail sees lots of hikers and the other options are recommended. By starting on top of the pass you eliminate tons of climbing. Forest Service Trail #1101 is a pleasure to ride. Moderate difficulty and rolling terrain. Be prepared for anything and everything from flat tires to monster thunderstorms... you're a long ways from home on this trail!
