Heavy weather in Steamboat Springs
Home
So you're ready to ride your bike but the weather isn't perfect. If we all waited for ideal conditions to get on our bikes the world would be super stuffed with SUVs tailgaiting and rushing each other at traffic lights.

There is no time like the present to go for a ride. Get out there. Enjoy whatever Mother Nature throws your way. Rain and cold. Snow and wind. Hail or grapple... Let it flow and blow, you've got the gear to handle current spring conditions and the conditions two minutes from now...

Below are a few pieces that we use on a daily basis throughout a Rocky Mountain Spring. They keep us comfortable no matter what the weather is throwing at us.
Cold weather riding
Gore Path Jacket
Gore Bike Wear Path Jacket
Staying dry while you ride is key but your jacket can't feel heavy or overheat you either. Gore's Path Jacket is just about perfect. The fabric is light enough to ride with but not too light that it feels flimsy or flaps in the wind like a flag. Very comfortable to ride in.
Gore Ultra Rain Pant
Gore Ultra Pant
These overpants should be part of your kit on longer trips. They offer protection against sudden rain showers and keep you warm. They're also perfect when you haven't even started your ride and you're still going... no matter what. Stay warm. Stay dry. Stay riding...
Craft Windstopper Pro LS
Craft Windstopper Pro Top
We use this piece year 'round for skiing and biking. The Gore windstopper front panel keeps the cold from reaching your core and the tremendous wicking ability from Craft's Pro Zero fabric keeps you dry. There is nothing better for riding in the cold mank! This is one of the most underated but most effective pieces you will ever ride (or ski) in. Two thumbs up!
Craft Flex Fleece Knee Warmers
Craft Flex Fleece Knee Warmers
Maybe a poor man's knicker but no less effective for keeping the knees warm for rides in the classic in-between temperatures. Not too cold but not warm either. Easy to take off if your lucky enough to have the temperatures come up during your ride.
Pearl Izumi Amphib Shoecover
Pearl Izumi Amphib Shoecover
The theme here is warm and dry. When you get caught in the rain and snow nothing is more miserable than having wet and cold feet. Pearl's Amphib shoe covers protect you from both the wet and cold. Ride everyday with confidence and comfort!
Toko Thermo Windstopper Glove
Toko Thermo Windstopper Gloves
We like this glove for its thermal qualities. When your ride starts at 6:00 am and the temp is below freezing this is the glvoe to wear. Not to heavy or bulky that you can't work shifters or brakes or lose the feel of your bars. Nice and warm.
